The Source
Inspired by the light, color, and shadow embedded in memories and photographs of lived experience—by himself, his loved ones, or even total strangers—Mark resuscitates moments now gone from history and images otherwise left to dwell in that fragile, internal place we call Memory.
The Aim
Always, the aim is to make “a good image,” something worth pausing to look at, to bring something beautiful or thoughtful into the world. He wants to turn viewers’ eyes and minds away from a phone, a TV, an anxious or mundane moment and bring them instead a good reason to stop, exhale, and explore a little more of the morsels of real life lived and beauty left in our world.
The Wife and Webmaster
Elena (Sue) Moreno lives in Tacoma with the man who fills her heart and makes her laugh every day: artist, carpenter, comedian, and humble husband, Mark Walter Schultz. Instructional Designer by day, and amateur webmaster by night, she is determined to give the world a way to see the beauty of his mind, the talent in his eyes, and the mastery in his hands. She often photographs images that later inspire Mark's art--everything from the first Tacoma cherry blossoms blooming in their yard to the ripples of water flowing down to their feet from Mt. Rainier's Nisqually glacier.
With all the ugliness in this world, stop for a moment, and find your sense of wonder again. There is good reason for it all around you...and right here.
